For years now I have been buying meats in bulk and then portioning and freezing them at home. I can never get the pieces into the Ziploc bag with out touching it on the zipper part. I always try to wash it off as well as I can but I'm always afraid of salmonella or cross contamination since I'm just throwing it into the freezer with everything else! I'm not sure why it took me so long to realize this..... but if you fit your ziploc bag over a container you can avoid touching the meats to the top at all because the sides are slid down over the side. Plus you have your other hand free since you aren't holding the bag open.
